‘Batman: The Enemy Within’ Launches Episode Two With ‘The Pact’

batmantheenemy“The Pact,” episode two of Telltale Games’ Batman: The Enemy Within, comes out October 3 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS and Android.

The just released trailer for “The Pact” shows that The Joker’s (Anthony Ingruber) right hand woman Harley Quinn continues her bat-wielding (no pun intended) villainy throughout Gotham’s crime ridden streets, and it’s up to the Dark Knight (Troy Baker) to take her down. An unidentified antagonist shows up on the tail end of the clip, and although most fans don’t need a teaser to whet their appetites, it’s still a welcome sight.

Although players’ choices from the first season of Batman: The Telltale Series spills over to the latest installment, Batman: The Enemy Within also functions as a standalone title. Fans of physical media can also purchases a season pass disc starting October 3.

JRPG Epic ‘Egglia: Legend of the Redcap’ Launches With 18-Minute Trailer

egglia1I usually love my eggs in omelette form, but this out they are the focus behind the turn-based JRPG title Egglia: Legend of the Redcap. Initially released in Japan back in April, the title has players exploring the land of Egglia as a gentle elf boy named Chabo. As he hunts monsters and grows in strength, Chabo will various eggs, that when hatched, will upon up different lands within this expansive world. Along with the requisite battles that come with a role playing game, the title also enables players to build villages that house the companions who aid Chabo in his quest.

In celebration of its stateside launch, an 18-minute trailer of Egglia: Legend of the Redcap gives players a detailed peak into the game’s opening act. The title’s music, which soars during the game’s opening moments, are a particular standout. Check out the launch trailer below and tell us what you think!

Legend of the Redcap is now available via the Apple Store and Google Play.

RPG Crawler ‘Raze: Dungeon Arena’ Hits iOS & Android In August

raze4

Top down dungeon crawlers are a dime a dozen (and as a fan of the genre, that’s not necessarily a  bad thing!), but thankfully Raze: Dungeon Arena knows adding character amidst the hack and slash aesthetic is one way to stand out.

Raze: Dungeon Arena’s gameplay trailer introduces us to three distinct characters that will be available at the beginning of the game. The Frost Priestess vanquishes her enemies with a freezing blast and hail, the Elf known as the Death Ranger kills with fire arrows and is able to summon his own shadow, and the Rhino Warrior pounds his foes into submission. Since I love to speak softly and wish I carried a big stick, the Rhino Warrior’s spike-filled wooden weapon would be my first choice (players start the game picking one of the three heroes).

With Unity 3D graphic along with single player, multiplayer and guild gameplay modes, Raze: Dungeon Arena may be the dungeon crawler and brawler I’ve been waiting for, but we’ll see if the game lives up to its promise when it hits iOS and Android devices in August. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think!

Mobile Shooter ‘Zombie Gunship Survival’ Aims For Immersive Experience

zombie1Although top down mobile shooters with a vast array of weapons upgrades is not a novel concept, but Zombie Gunship Survival aims for an immersive experience by exploring the undead genre from a different vantage point.

Players are in command of a gunner seat on an AC-130 aircraft, and the goal is to kill as many zombies as possible and protect the ground troops that have embarked on scavenging missions. As the game progresses, players can upgrade their weaponry and, with the collection of valuable resources, build a remote airfield for the survivors.

Publisher Flaregames are touting their title as a first-person shooter in the vein of Call of Duty and Battlefield, and the franchise’s original installment (Zombie Gunship) was honored with the IGN Editors Choice Award back in 2011. Thus, there is a bit of momentum behind Zombie Gunship Survival’s May 25th on iOS and Android, and in celebration of its premiere flaregames has released a 360 degree video/dramatization of the game:

I’ll be downloading and posting a review of this title once it hits the Apple Store stateside, so please stay tuned!

MOBA Adventure ‘Heroes Arena’ Set For iOS Debut

heroesarena1Heroes Arena, a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) title that was previously released on Google Play, is now headed for iOS devices April 14 via uCool, Inc. The game will receive a major Android update in conjunction with its iOS debut.

The free to play title enables players to select a hero amidst six different classes (Assassin, Mage, Marksman, Support, Tank and Warrior). Each hero has five special abilities, three leader abilities, and a highly unique skill called the Hero Ultimate. Along with its visually arresting, top down graphics, the title also comes with built-in tools to share gameplay on HD which, since so many gamers watch rather than play titles these days, is a valuable asset.

A huge selling point for checking out Heroes Arena is the ability to pre-register before the iOS release and Android update, as gamers will receive an exclusive hero and 1,000 gold just for signing up (it’s an estimated $19.99 value). Since my gaming life revolves around the App Store, I don’t have any idea if Heroes Arena gives great gaming value for its freemium experience. That being said, the pre-registration value is tantalizing, and you can register for the game by clicking here.

rocky4

Android gamers now have a puncher’s chance at winning the title shot as an iconic cinematic pugilist as Rocky is now available on Google Play. Rocky, published by mobile games developer Tapinator in conjunction with MGM Interactive (in celebration of the film’s 40th anniversary), was previously released on iOS.

Along with the android release, an iOS update introduces fighters Tommy Gunn (from Rocky V) and Mason Dixon (Rocky Balboa) into the game. Clubber Lang, Apollo Creed, and Ivan Drago were already featured in the time.

With Rocky, players can challenge real life opponents worldwide, build an ultimate fighter roster and unlock new boxers as they upgrade their gym and earn various rewards. Boosting a boxer’s stats is achieved by training in the gym with legendary trainer Mickey Goldmill!

We’re just glad Bill Conti’s memorable score is also featured in the game! Check out the trailer below and tell us if you’re going to give this version of Rocky a shot!
