In a virtual photo finish, Netflix’s re-release of KPop Demon Hunters likely tied with Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc from Sony and Crunchyroll, with both titles estimated at $6 million.
Netflix isn’t reporting grosses for KPop Demon Hunters, which played in 2,890 theaters. The animated musical was previously a streaming hit and made its theatrical debut in August, leading the domestic box office with $18 million.
Meanwhile, Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc — last weekend’s champ — has earned $30 million domestic and $139 million globally, continuing its strong international run.
