Fruitgate keeps growing on The Traitors: New Blood as Niyyah Hayes becomes the latest murder victim, Victor Vollbrechthausen refuses to let go of his fruit theory, and the Faithful make another costly mistake at the Round Table.

Niyyah becomes the murder victim

The episode picks up at the Wake of the Living Dead with Clyde Moser, Mark Zgoda, Niyyah Hayes and Joe Vanella still inside their coffins. Because Joe is a Traitor, he already knows he will survive.

While they wait, Joe tells Niyyah that the poisoned apple challenge forced him to sacrifice a Faithful during the murder in plain sight. Then the wake reveals its outcome. Clyde, Mark and Joe leave their coffins, while flames engulf Niyyah’s tombstone and confirm her as the Traitors’ latest murder victim.

Fruitgate creates problems for the Traitors

Back at the castle, Katie Fites and Tomica Adams are unhappy that Joe had to eliminate Niyyah, who had been close to them. They also know Victor has become suspicious of Tomica because she had been offering fruit to people during the previous challenge.

With attention starting to move in their direction, the Traitors begin discussing Michael Foote as someone they can push suspicion toward.

Victor keeps pushing the Fruitgate theory

Meanwhile, Victor keeps pushing his theory that fruit played a role in the murder in plain sight. He explains his Fruitgate suspicions to Mark and Morgan Cook, but they do not take the idea very seriously.

The moment gets even stranger when Joe tosses another piece of fruit toward Mark, who catches it in his mouth.

The players add $20,000 to the prize pot

For the mission, the group splits into two teams. One group enters a laboratory filled with the screaming heads of former players, while the others remain outside near the graveyard.

The goal is to match each scream to the correct grave, with $5,000 available for every correct answer. With help from Clyde’s musical ear, the group correctly identifies Maura Higgins, Bob the Drag Queen, Phaedra Parks and Boston Rob Mariano, adding $20,000 to the prize pot.

Fruitgate follows Victor into the Round Table

After the mission, Victor continues pushing suspicion toward Joe and Tomica. At the same time, Abby Lee starts looking at Wyatt Gillespie, arguing that his previous comments about Niyyah could have been an attempt to create cover before murdering her.

Abby also tells Joe that Victor is coming after him because of the fruit theory. Elsewhere, Ben McDonnell and Morgan begin considering Katie’s suspicions about Michael, as the group discusses whether they should finally target someone who has not drawn much attention before.

Victor makes his Fruitgate case

At the Round Table, Victor argues that Niyyah was probably murdered by people close to her. He once again connects the murder to fruit and specifically points to Tomica, noting how she had been offering fruit to other players.

Tomica defends herself and says she was simply being hospitable. She then turns the suspicion back on Victor, suggesting he could have been recruited as a Traitor.

Wyatt and Michael also come under fire

Abby raises her concerns about Wyatt, pointing back to his previous comments about Niyyah. Then Katie makes the case against Michael, saying his confidence and lack of fear stand out compared with the other Faithful.

The suspicion begins to catch on. Even people close to Michael, including Abbey Benjamin, Clyde and Ben, start considering his name, while Michael tries to defend himself by pointing the finger at Victor.

Michael is banished

When the votes come in, the group divides among several names. Victor is the only player who votes for Tomica, while Tomica, Michael and Jay Vinnedge vote for Victor. Wyatt also receives three votes.

But Michael receives eight votes and leaves the game, meaning the Faithful once again fail to eliminate a Traitor.

Fruitgate puts Victor in danger

Even after another incorrect banishment, Victor refuses to abandon Fruitgate and continues insisting that his theory points toward the Traitors.

Later, the Traitors meet again and realize Victor’s suspicions are becoming increasingly dangerous for them. With Victor refusing to back down, they begin considering whether they need to murder him next.

The Traitors: New Blood airs Thursday nights at 8/7c on NBC and streams the next day on Peacock.
