Unlike traditional venues like network television, when you’re making a streaming web series, there are no rules. And that’s one of the reasons why Hen Mazzig chose the YouTube format for his new series, And They’re Jewish. In it, Mazzig presents a blend of documentary and entertainment styles in order to explain the realities facing well-known Jews amidst the backdrop of rising antisemitism because of the Israel-Hamas War. As he mapped out the series, Mazzig says he knew he wanted to bring out the humanity in his subjects, but he also wanted to make each episode stand on its own as a piece of entertainment.
