It was a master stroke of casting: To play a younger version of an established character, why not seek out the original actor’s daughter? That’s exactly what the producers of Young Sheldon did in finding young Sheldon Cooper’s mother. On The Big Bang Theory, the role is played perfectly by Laurie Metcalf. Metcalf’s daughter, Zoe Perry, is an actress as well. As it turns out, she has a knack for acting just like her mother, and Perry says that certainly helps give her version of the character a lot of credibility.
