Hosted by Yvette Nicole Brown, Cosplay Melee has talented cosplayers competing for the chance to win $10,000. Renowned cosplayer LeeAnna Vamp and costume designer Christian Beckman (Tron: Legacy) serve as judges on the program.
“It’s a show where we celebrate those who are creative and we’re looking for the greatest cosplayer of a particular genre every week,” said Brown, whose previous credits include a wonderful run on TV’s acclaimed series Community and The Odd Couple. “So it might be a space opera like Star Wars or Star Trek. It might be anime. It might be superheroes. The first challenge is to create an accessory – it could be headdress. a sword, or a shield. And then we eliminate one person and then they have to go back and create an entire costume and create a character with that one thing they’ve already made. Then they have to come out and perform it and the best one wins. It’s so good.”
