While Zooptopia cruised to another first place finish at the box office with $50 million, the new release 10 Cloverfield Lane also had a solid showing with $25.2 million. A sequel to Cloverfield, the $13 million budgeted 10 Cloverfield Lane should turn a healthy profit for Paramount Pictures. Zootopia’s worldwide gross has surpassed $430 million.
The sun didn’t shine for The Brothers Grimsby, as Sacha Baron Cohen’s latest comedy bombed at the box office, taking in just $3.15 million. Even though the comedy received its share of lukewarm reviews (for my take on the film, please go to CinemAddicts), it’s a surprise that most moviegoers basically ignored a movie from the man who created Borat, Ali G, and Bruno.

10. Risen – $2.25 million
