Zac Efron And Crew Give “Maximum Effort” To ‘The Greatest Showman’

THE GREATEST SHOWMAN

Zac Efron became a star thanks to his work in the High School Musical films, but since then singing has taken a backseat to carving out a diverse acting career. Whether it’s character driven work such as The Paperboy and At Any Price or straight up comedies such as Neighbors and Dirty Grandpa, Efron doesn’t mind mixing it up on the silver screen.

He returns with a spring to his step and a song in his heart in The Greatest Showman, starring as the ringmaster protegé to Hugh Jackman’s P.T. Barnum. The musical, as evidenced by its live commercial, has been an ambitious undertaking for everyone involved. In the audio clip below, Efron explains how the cast and crew gave “maximum effort” in the making of The Greatest Showman.

The Greatest Showman, co-starring Zendaya and Michelle Williams, opens nationwide December 20.

Raw Material In ‘The Paperboy’ Put Nicole Kidman To The Test

paperboyCurrently in theaters, THE PAPERBOY has become a love-it-or-hate-it experience for audiences and critics not expecting the violence and overt sexuality depicted on screen in telling a story set in Florida circa 1969 and centered on a journalist and his younger brother investigating the wrongful condemnation of a man convicted of murder.
Based on the novel by PETE DEXTER and directed by LEE DANIELS, the cast includes MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY, NICOLE KIDMAN, ZAC EFRON, JOHN CUSACK, SCOTT GLENN and MACY GRAY.
No stranger to doing scenes of a “graphic” nature, KIDMAN was put to the test with THE PAPERBOY. At a recent press conference to promote the film, she talked about how doing material more “raw” than she was used to coupled with the chance to work with DANIELS, made taking the role irresistible. Director Lee Daniels Polarizes Cannes With Controversial Film ‘The Paperboy’

paperboyMaking its debut at the Cannes Film Festival a few days ago, THE PAPERBOY proved to be a love-it-or-hate-it experience for audiences not expecting the violence and overt sexuality depicted on screen in telling a story set in Florida circa 1969 and centered on a journalist and his younger brother investigating the wrongful condemnation of a man convicted of murder.
Based on the novel by PETE DEXTER and directed by LEE DANIELS, the cast includes MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY, NICOLE KIDMAN, ZAC EFRON,  JOHN CUSACK, SCOTT GLENN and MACY GRAY.
Never one to shy away from scenes of a “graphic” nature, KIDMAN has to urinate on EFRON’S character (after he’s stung by a jellyfish) while proclaiming the (much tweeted) line, “If anybody’s going to pee on him, it’s going to be me!”. At the Cannes press conference to promote the film she talked about trusting DANIELS’ judgement in going ahead with the action. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
