Why Oprah, Mindy & Reese Are Excited About ‘A Wrinkle In Time’

For many schoolkids, the classic 1963 novel A Wrinkle In Time was required reading, and for good reason. The sci-fi story, about a young girl who travels across the universe to rescue her father, was fun, imaginative, and thought-provoking. Now it’s being reimagined as a movie by acclaimed director Ava DuVernay, with an all-star cast that includes Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling and Oprah Winfrey. We talked to the three actresses, who each expressed their love and passion for the film.

A Wrinkle In Time will open in theaters on March 9, 2018.

‘The Star’ Trailer Tells A Christmas Story With Steven Yeun

thestarIt’s been dubbed as the greatest story ever told and for Christians Christmas is obviously more than just Santa Claus and presents. The trailer to The Star, Sony Pictures Animation’s latest project, features Steven Yeun as the voice of a determined donkey named Bo. After breaking free, Bo finds adventure with Ruth (Aidy Bryant), a sheep who has lost her flick, and a dove named Dave (Keegan-Michael Key).

These three animals are probably a riff on the three wise men, and the trailer also shows them encountering Joseph (Zachary Levi) and Mary (Gina Rodriguez). Hopefully this movie, along with its share of comedy, will have its share of inspiring moments. Comedy is an integral aspect of most narratives, but telling the story of the birth of Jesus Chris should also have a requisite amount of drama and insight.

The Star, co-starring Oprah Winfrey and Kristin Chenoweth, opens nationwide November 10. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think!

Chris Pine Discovers ‘A Wrinkle In Time’ With Ava DuVernay

With his Star Trek features and even with his stint as Jack Ryan, Chris Pine knows a thing or two about franchise movies. But like Star Trek, the highly anticipated A Wrinkle in Time has its share of resonant themes. Penned by Madeline L’Engle, A Wrinkle in Time centers on Meg Murry (Storm Reid), a middle school student who goes on a life changing quest to find her physician father (Chris Pine). Gugu Mbatha-Raw co-stars as Meg’s mother, with Oprah Winfrey (Mrs. Which), Reese Witherspoon (Mrs. Whatsit) and Mindy Kaling (Mrs. Who) playing important roles in Meg’s journey.
