Making its cable debut tonight on Cinemax, HUNTED is an action/adventure yarn created by X-FILES alum FRANK SPOTNITZ and set in a world of corporate espionage and conspiracies. A fitting companion piece to STRIKE BACK, SPOTNITZ’S earlier contribution to the network, the series delivers on its promise of exotic location shooting and plenty of action.
Most recently seen on the claustrophobic HBO series IN TREATMENT, MELISSA GEORGE is all action-heroine here and, at the Television Critics Association press conference to promote the show, she admitted that one reason to take the job was to get outside. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
Airing tonight on NBC-TV, ANIMAL PRACTICE is a new workplace sitcom set in a busy New York animal hospital and centered on a misanthropic veterinarian whose bedside manner with critters is a vast improvement over his way with humans. Infused with a heavy dose of dark humor and featuring a cast that includes JUSTIN KIRK, JOANNA GARCIA SWISHER, TYLER LABINE and BOBBY LEE, the series is proving to be a slow starter in the ratings despite displaying some pretty strong sitcom chops.
Probably best known to TV audiences for his work on the last eight seasons of the hit Showtime series WEEDS, JUSTIN KIRK sat down with us yesterday to talk about his upcoming big-screen drama NOBODY WALKS but took a moment to assure fans that ANIMAL PRACTICE is moving along right on-track.
ANIMAL PRACTICE airs tonight on NBC
NOBODY WALKS opens in theaters 10/19 and is available now via VOD
Enjoying a sneak preview tonight (before its move to Wednesday nights in its actual 8:00 time slot next month), ANIMAL PRACTICE is a new workplace sitcom set in a busy New York animal hospital and centered on an unorthodox veterinarian whose bedside manner with critters far surpasses his way with humans. Infused with a heavy dose of dark humor and featuring a cast that includes JUSTIN KIRK, JOANNA GARCIA SWISHER, TYLER LABINE and BOBBY LEE, the pilot shows signs of having some staying power.
Probably best known to TV audiences for his work on the last eight seasons of the hit Showtime series WEEDS, JUSTIN KIRK sat down with us a couple of weeks ago to talk about the new show and his plans to research the role.
ANIMAL PRACTICE debuts tonight after the Olympics’ Closing Ceremony on NBC
Airing tonight on Fox, the two-hour first season finale of ALCATRAZ promises to be a white-knuckler as it answers questions while, at the same time, posing more. And that’s not all, a major cliff-hanger will be preceded by a recreation of the legendary car chase scene from the 1968 classic STEVE McQUEEN movie BULLITT.
Created by J.J. ABRAMS, this follow-up to his groundbreaking series LOST stars SAM NEILL, SARAH JONES and JORGE GARCIA as investigators into the mysterious disappearance and (decades later) reappearance of former Alcatraz denizens.
The two-hour season one finale of ALCATRAZ airs tonight on Fox-TV
Fans of Bravo’s reality series FLIPPING OUT are in for a treat with tonight’s series premiere of INTERIOR THERAPHY WITH JEFF LEWIS. And, the good news is that this series won’t be replacing the popular FLIPPING OUT but adding another JEFF LEWIS show to the network schedule. LEWIS has evolved over the past five years from being an obnoxious tyrant you hate to watch to being a kinder tyrant you love to hate. Arguably one of Bravo’s most entertaining reality series, FLIPPING OUT is just another reason why BRAVO has become the network that LOGO always wished it could be and INTERIOR THERAPY should prove to be another successful notch on the network’s belt.
During our sit-down with LEWIS (and his faithful sidekick JENNI PULOS) at the Television Critics Association press event, he talked about the genesis of the new series.
