’13 Reason Why’ Adds Resources For Its Second Season

Since the show deals with the issue of teen suicide in a raw, realistic way, the cast, creators and producers of 13 Reasons Why are aware that they have a social responsibility to educate their audience about the problem, even as they strive to entertain them with the gritty, compelling drama. Alisha Boe, one of the stars of the show, says they learned a lot from the first season and have added even more of that type of content for the second season.

The new season of 13 Reasons Why is streaming now on Netflix.

’13 Reasons Why’ Stars Know Why It’s Been A Success

The first season of 13 Reasons Why was a big hit for Netflix last year, and it returns with new episodes later this week. The show, about the messages left behind by a teen girl who committed suicide, struck a nerve with audiences because of its stark, realistic portrayal of both teens and suicide. Two of its stars, Miles Heizer and Ross Butler, told us it’s refreshing to see a show that tackles teen issues head-on.

The second season of 13 Reasons Why starts streaming on Netflix this Friday.

From Film Buff To Hollywood Hotshot: Has Adam Sandler’s Perspective On Movies Changed?

Adam Sandler’s new movie is The Week Of, featuring him and Chris Rock as fathers of a bride and groom who have to survive spending the week before the wedding with each other. It’s the latest film in his production deal with Netflix, and it’s produced by Sandler’s very successful production company, Happy Madison. Things have obviously changed a lot for Sandler in the 23 years since he left Saturday Night Live. He’s gone from being a comedian to a movie star to being a producer. Of course, each of those steps has taken him further into the business end of the movies. Now that he’s a filmmaker himself, is he still able to watch films the same way he did when he was just a young fan? (Click on the media bar below to hear Adam Sandler)

The Week Of is now streaming on Netflix.

‘POV: Bill Nye: Science Guy’ Documentary Hits Blu-Ray And DVD On April 24

POV: Bill Nye: Science Guy, a documentary on one of television’s more affable and educational figures, hits Blu-ray and DVD April 24 via PBS Distribution. The project, a behind-the-scenes look at the “Science Guy,” features interviews with Neil deGrasse Tyson, Ann Druyan, and other prominent voices in the field.

Along with his work on television (the second season of Netflix’s Bill Nye Saves The World premieres May 11), Nye is also the CEO of the Planetary Society (co-founded by late author Carl Sagan) and is leading a mission to launch Lightsail, a satellite propelled by sunlight.

“The Science Guy show is over, and I’ve go to move on to something bigger,” said Nye in the documentary. “We have this increasing anti-science movement in the United States. It’s worse than ever. The anti-science movement is more powerful than it’s ever been.”

Did ‘Stranger Things’ Get Stranger For Millie Bobby Brown In Season Two?

When Stranger Things premiered on Netflix two summers ago, it created quite a buzz, and it transformed Millie Bobby Brown’s career, literally overnight. As the mysterious Eleven, Brown’s character was at the core of the sci-fi series’s plot, and she became the breakout star of its first season. While Eleven’s continued existence was a major question mark after that initial run, Brown did return to the series for its second season. And while Eleven looked different, that wasn’t the only change for Brown — at a press event, she said a lot of things had changed, including her confidence… and the show’s security! (Click on the media bar below to hear Millie Bobby Brown)

Season 2 of Stranger Things is streaming now on Netflix, with a third season already in the works.
