Hungary based developed NeocoreGames has announced that their RPG infused, tower defense title The World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap is now available on Xbox One. Extra benefits have been set for Xbox Live Gold members, as they can download the game for free this month as part of the Games With Gold program.

“I’m very proud of the final game and the fine work the team at Neocore Games did on Deathtrap,” said NeocoreGames producer Zoltán Pozsonyi. “Our goal was to push the tower defense genre forward with a unique gameplay mechanic that allows players to build a deadly maze of traps and towers while controlling a character direction for the traditional top-down view of an action-RPG.”

A huge advantage for Deathtrap is it’s a title that has a built in universe thanks to The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing franchise, and the game’s loyal fanbase will probably hop on and give this new title a shot. Gamers can build over 25 traps and perform over 150 upgrades on their weapons. Deathtrap also features multiplayer options (one person defends and the other attacks) as well ability to specialize in three different classes.

One of the strongest aspects of The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing titles are their intricately woven skill trees, and hopefully Deathtrap’s upgrade system will reach similar creative heights. Check out the trailer to The World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap below!
