Zac Efron And Crew Give “Maximum Effort” To ‘The Greatest Showman’

Zac Efron became a star thanks to his work in the High School Musical films, but since then singing has taken a backseat to carving out a diverse acting career. Whether it’s character driven work such as The Paperboy and At Any Price or straight up comedies such as Neighbors and Dirty Grandpa, Efron doesn’t mind mixing it up on the silver screen.

He returns with a spring to his step and a song in his heart in The Greatest Showman, starring as the ringmaster protegé to Hugh Jackman’s P.T. Barnum. The musical, as evidenced by its live commercial, has been an ambitious undertaking for everyone involved. In the audio clip below, Efron explains how the cast and crew gave “maximum effort” in the making of The Greatest Showman.

The Greatest Showman, co-starring Zendaya and Michelle Williams, opens nationwide December 20.

Will Ferrell & Amy Poehler Finally Get It Together With ‘The House’

It’s an assumption that comedic greats like Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler would have worked together a plethora of times by now, but their comedic team ups have been sparse (Blades of Glory). Now they’re the leads of The House, a comedy which has them playing parents who open up an underground casino to finance their daughter’s (Ryan Simpkins) college education. The picture was written and directed by Andrew Jay Cohen, the scribe behind Neighbors, Neighbors 2 and Mike and Dave Need College Dates.

Andrew, having written the script, had a very good game plan going on how he wanted to shoot it and how he wanted to conceive the whole project in terms of shot selection and set design” said Ferrell. “I think he did wonderfully well for a first time director.”

The House opens June 30, 2017.

Seth Rogen Brings Personal Producing Touch To “Neighbors”

Neighbors (Universal)

Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne play newbie parents whose lives are turned upside down when a fraternity house moves next door in Neighbors. Zac Efron is Teddy the well intentioned but emotionally volatile leader leader of the pack who pulls off a series of pranks aimed at Mac and Kelly (Rogen, Byrne).

Rogen is also a producer on Neighbors, a feature directed by Get Him to the Greek filmmaker Nicholas Stoller. Last year, Rogen produced, co-directed, and starred in the highly successful This is the End, and if word of mouth has any say in the matter, Neighbors should continue the actor’s hot streak.

During a Neighbors press conference, Seth Rogen explains why, as a producer, he wants to have a personal connection to the material:

Neighbors, co-starring Dave Franco and Lisa Kudrow, is now playing in select theaters.
