The Timing Was Right For John C. Reilly To Sign For ‘We Need To Talk About Kevin’

we_need_to_talk_about_kevin_xlgOpening in theaters today, WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN centers on the mother of a psychologically disturbed teen and how she deals with the aftermath of his Columbine-like rampage. Directed by LYNNE RAMSEY from the prize-winning 2003 novel by LIONEL SHRIVER, the film stars TILDA SWINTON, JOHN C. REILLY, EZRA MILLER and URSULA PARKER. Reminiscent of the 1956 classic THE BAD SEED, the film brings up unanswerable questions of “nature vs. nurture” and parental responsibility. As the father of the tortured teen, REILLY makes the best of his supporting role and deftly counters his showier comic performances in other films. During a press conference to promote the movie, REILLY talked about getting involved in the project. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)

In ‘We Need To Talk About Kevin’ Tilda Swinton Proves Less Is Definitely More

we-need-to-talk-about-kevin-posterIn the painfully bleak WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN, the mother of a psychologically disturbed teen faces the aftermath of his Columbine-like rampage by taking responsibility and absorbing what should be his guilt. Directed by LYNNE RAMSEY from the prize-winning 2003 novel by LIONEL SHRIVER, the film stars TILDA SWINTON, JOHN C. REILLY, EZRA MILLER and URSULA PARKER. A modern day take on the 1956 classic THE BAD SEED, the film brings up unanswerable questions of “nature vs. nurture” and parental responsibility. In her performance as the epically tortured mother, SWINTON turns in one of the most devastating performances of the year using a minimum of dialogue to convey an unfathomable burden. During a press conference to promote the film, she talked about her approach to the role. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
