The Flash: The Musical Coming Soon?

flash1The CW’s hit series The Flash features a stellar cast that’s anchored by Grant Gustin and Jesse L. Martin. As many know, Gustin and Martin also have standout singing voices. Gustin previously starred in the national tour of West Side Story and many will remember him on Glee as one of the talented Dalton Academy Warblers. As for Jesse L. Martin many will remember him for his role on Broadway and in the film Rent.

With these two great singers many hope there might be an all musical episode of The Flash, just like other shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Grey’s Anatomy, and Scrubs. We caught up with Grant Gustin who told us that a musical episode is not in the immediate offing. However, a few episodes last season took place at a karaoke bar and he would like to see more scenes take place there. Gustin adds if the show is lucky to make it to a 10thseason, maybe a musical episode can happen! (Click on the media bar below to hear Grant Gustin)

The Flash airs Tuesday night 8/7c on The CW.

Brittany Snow Saves The Best For Last In ‘Pitch Perfect’ Finale

pitch-perfect02In theaters today, PITCH PERFECT is a musical comedy set in the world of college level a cappella singing competitions and owes more than just a little to the success of such crowd pleasers as GLEE (for the music) and MEAN GIRLS (for the attitude). Pitting the girls against the boys while delivering fun tunes and sharp dialog, PITCH PERFECT may just be a sleeper of a hit. Directed by JASON MOORE from a script by KAY CANNON, the cast includes ANNA KENDRICK, ELIZABETH BANKS, REBEL WILSON, ALEXIS KNAPP, BRITTANY SNOW, CHRISTOPHER MINTZ-PLASSE and JOHN MICHAEL HIGGINS.
Rife with music, the film features plenty of numbers but, during our recent interview, BRITTANY SNOW confessed that it was the big finale that the cast found the biggest challenge. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)

Aussie Comedienne Rebel Wilson Is ‘Pitch Perfect’ And Poised To Hit It Big Stateside

‘Pitch Perfect’ Star Anna Kendrick Finds Singing On-Screen Is Forever

pitch_perfectEnjoying a very busy season is actress ANNA KENDRICK, who is finding almost as much work as an off-screen voice as she is on-screen. Currently in theaters, she can be heard as the voice of Courtney Babcock in the animated family film PARANORMAN. Due in theaters soon, END OF WATCH is a gritty cop drama that has her sharing the screen with JAKE GYLLENHAAL and MICHAEL PENA and, later this month, she’s one of the stars of the a capella musical PITCH PERFECT.
No stranger to singing in public, KENDRICK was nominated for a Tony Award for her role in the Broadway musical HIGH SOCIETY and was featured in an all-star tribute version of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC.  But there’s a big difference between singing on stage and singing on screen. During our recent interview, KENDRICK talked about how an on-screen performance lives on forever. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
