When It Comes To Milo Ventimiglia’s Roles, Jack Is King

Milo Ventimiglia has been acting for a long time, having logged his first Hollywood credit nearly 23 years ago. (For you trivia buffs, it was a guest appearance on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.) With so many years and so many great roles under his belt, Ventimiglia says his current role — Jack Pearson on This Is Us — is easily the highlight of his career so far. Milo Ventimiglia: On ‘This Is Us,’ You Don’t Know Jack!

It’s not exactly a spoiler to tell you that Jack Pearson will die on This Is Us. After all, the NBC drama disclosed that piece of information in the show’s first season; we just don’t know when, where, or how. Since the show jumps around in time, Jack will continue to be part of the show, even after the details of his death are known. However, Milo Ventimiglia, who plays the character, teases that once Jack’s death is shown on the series, you might start to discover things about the character you never would have expected. This Is Milo: ‘This Is Us’ Star Ventimiglia Is Still One Of Us

thisisus-sept29The Jack Pearson character on This Is Us may have his faults, but viewers still see him as one of the nicest guys on television. Consider it typecasting for Milo Ventimiglia. We’ve seen him progress through his career, talking to him at every step along the way, and we can honestly say he’s just as nice and down-to-earth as he was when he started, more than a decade ago. He told us he’s made a conscious effort to keep himself grounded, not letting the fame go to his head.

New episodes of This Is Us are now airing Tuesday nights at 9/8c on NBC.

Gonna Cry Now? Sylvester Stallone Lands An Emotional ‘This Is Us’ Role

Season 1 of This Is Us left a few of its characters with rocky roads ahead of them, but nobody literally expected a “Rocky” road for Kevin Pearson: Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone will be guest-starring on an episode of NBC’s hit drama this fall. Just as Ron Howard did in an episode late last season, Stallone will be playing himself. But while Howard’s appearance was more of a cameo, show creator Dan Fogelman said Stallone’s role will be much more substantial and emotional, as Kevin (Justin Hartley) lands a role in a movie featuring one of his idols, who just happens to be Stallone. Milo Ventimiglia, who plays Jack Pearson, starred in Rocky Balboa with Stallone 11 years ago, and the Emmy-nominated actor told us that connection was literally the key to booking Stallone on the show.

Don’t miss Sylvester Stallone guest star on This Is Us this Tuesday at 9/8c on NBC.

For ‘This Is Us’ Fans (& Stars), This Is Great News

NUP_176969_0109.JPGSince its premiere last September, This Is Us has been captivating viewers and winning over critics with its winning blend of solid stories and emotionally charged performances.  Earlier this week, NBC rewarded the show with something that’s unheard-of for a rookie series: a two-season pickup.  Yes, we’ll be seeing the Pearson family on our TV screens through at least 2019, and two of the show’s stars — Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia — were thrilled by the news.  They told us the renewal gives the producers, writers, and actors not only a sense of security, but also plenty of confidence to continue telling the show’s heartfelt stories.
