ON THIS DAY IN MOVIES: FRANCES

francisOn this day in 1982, UNIVERSAL PICTURES released FRANCES. Directed by GRAEME CLIFFORD, this better-than-average biopic tells the story of FRANCES FARMER, a troubled actress who was more than just a little persecuted for her political views. JESSICA LANGE’s performance in the  titular role was/is nothing short of amazing. Also in the cast are KIM STANLEY, SAM SHEPARD, BONNIE BARTLETT and JAMES BRODHEAD. One of the better Hollywood biopics.

ON THIS DAY IN MOVIES: THE RIGHT STUFF
