Jim Parsons: ‘Young Sheldon’ Star’s Audition Definitely Made A Big Bang

Having originated the character of Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, Jim Parsons was brought aboard as an executive producer for the character’s spin-off show, Young Sheldon. That meant Parsons was involved in the casting process, along with the show’s creators, Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro. One of the new series with the most buzz going into the Fall TV season is Young Sheldon, the CBS comedy that introduces us to The Big Bang Theory’s Sheldon Cooper as a nine-year-old. The actor who’s played grown-up Sheldon for the last 10 years, Jim Parsons, is on board as both producer and narrator.
