Thirty years ago, the dark comedy Heathers was released. The movie, which starred Winona Ryder as a high school student who plots to kill the “mean girls” who have been tormenting her, earned critical acclaim, but didn’t earn much at the box office. That’s why we were a little surprised to see that the film is being remade as a TV comedy. Jason Micalle, who created the TV revival, explained to us why he felt the timing was right to reintroduce Heathers. (Click on the media bar below to hear Jason Micalle)
The new TV version of Heathers premieres March 7 on the Paramount Network.
