The Bellas are probably the most popular singing group in cinema thanks to the Pitch Perfect franchise. Each actress brings their distinct talents to their table, and along with the wonderful song renditions in the features, the movies also have an undeniable chemistry among the ensemble.
With Pitch Perfect 3, the Bellas have graduated from Branden University and like most twentysomethings they are having a tough time in the real world. A USO competition inspires the Bellas to reunite and triumph over their competition (John Wick 2’sRuby Rose plays one of their adversaries). Trish Sie, whose previous credit is the 2014 feature Step Up All In, directs this installment (Elizabeth Banks, who directed Pitch Perfect 2, is also part of this film as a producer).

John Cusack takes on one of his more challenging roles to date in Love & Mercy, an evocatively rendered and finely executed look at the life of Beach Boys mastermind Brian Wilson.
“The period I played in Brian’s life was much less public than the period Paul (Dano) played,” says Cusack. “He had sort of removed himself from public life so there wasn’t as much information or knowledge of him in that era. There was a lot of legends and a lot of superstitions about it. There was more lore than fact.”
Both Wilson and his wife Melinda (played in the film by Elizabeth Banks) opened their doors to Cusack to share their life with the actor, as the happy couple wanted to bring a high level of factual accuracy to Love & Mercy.
But when all is said and done, Cusack also found an emotional entryway into Wilson by simply listening to the words behind the beautiful sounds of the Beach Boys. “My own opinion is that you can hear everything about Brian in his music,” adds the actor.

In theaters today, PITCH PERFECT is a musical comedy set in the world of college level a cappella singing competitions and owes more than just a little to the success of such crowd pleasers as GLEE (for the music) and MEAN GIRLS (for the attitude). Pitting the girls against the boys while delivering fun tunes and sharp dialog, PITCH PERFECT may just be a sleeper of a hit. Directed by JASON MOORE from a script by KAY CANNON, the cast includes ANNA KENDRICK, ELIZABETH BANKS, REBEL WILSON, ALEXIS KNAPP, BRITTANY SNOW, CHRISTOPHER MINTZ-PLASSE and JOHN MICHAEL HIGGINS.
Rife with music, the film features plenty of numbers but, during our recent interview, BRITTANY SNOW confessed that it was the big finale that the cast found the biggest challenge. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
Slated to hit the big screen later this week, PITCH PERFECT is an entertaining musical comedy set in the world of college level a cappella singing competitions. Part GLEE (a little) and part MEAN GIRLS (a lot), the film pits the girls against the boys while delivering fun tunes and sharp dialog. Directed by JASON MOORE from a script by KAY CANNON, the cast has KENDRICK joined by ELIZABETH BANKS, REBEL WILSON, ALEXIS KNAPP, BRITTANY SNOW, CHRISTOPHER MINTZ-PLASSE and JOHN MICHAEL HIGGINS. Certainly one of the highlights of PITCH PERFECT is the casting of relative unknown Australian actress/comedienne REBEL WILSON. A popular performer in her homeland “down under”, WILSON has been popping up stateside for a couple of years now. At the recent press conference to promote PITCH PERFECT, she talked about getting started in show biz. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
