Mary Poppins was released in 1964, so the wait for a sequel has been a long time coming. The teaser trailer to Mary Poppins Returns, featuring Emily Bluntas the titular character, has debuted and while Poppins doesn’t make an appearance towards the end of the 95 second clip, it is still a must see video.
For one, we get to see Hamilton’sLin-Manuel Miranda navigate a kite and Mr. Banks (Ben Whishaw) softly exclaim “Mary Poppins, it is wonderful to see you.” Blunt immediately replies to the couple (Emily Mortimer plays Mrs. Banks) “Yes it is, isn’t it?” while looking at herself in the mirror.
It will be hard to match Julie Andrews’ iconic performance as Mary Poppins, but Blunt is more than capable of putting her own spin to the character. Co-starring Dick Van Dyke and Meryl Streep, Mary Poppins Returns is set for a Christmas release. Check out the teaser trailer and tell us what you think!
Mexico City and Rome are the backdrops for the latest James Bond (Daniel Craig) feature Spectre, and this time out he reunites with Mr. White (Jesper Christensen), the deadly Quantum operative who, considering Bond’s latest adversary Franz Oberhauser (Oscar winner Christoph Waltz), may be a pawn in a much bigger game.
Quantum, as the latest trailer suggests, may also be a subsidiary of the even more powerful organization Spectre, which is headed by Franz. Even with the ever ready Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw) by his side, Bond may (at least for most of this narrative) have met his match.
Monica Bellucci also stars as Lucia Sciarra, a criminal’s widow and possible paramour of Bond’s, with Léa Seydoux (Blue Is The Warmest Color) playing Mr. White’s imperiled daughter Madeleine. Sam Mendes, who claimed in a BBC interview that this is his last Bond outing, directs the feature, which opens nationwide November 6.
The action-packed trailer is filled with beautiful women and features Bond’s trademark (and often times dry) charm, but the kicker comes at the end of the clip, when Franz admits that he is the “author” of 007’s pain.
