Holiday Blu-Ray Spotlight: ‘Alfred Hitchcock: The Ultimate Collection’

For last minute shopping looking for the perfect Christmas gift for a cinephile, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment’s Alfred Hitchcock: The Ultimate Collection should fit the bill.

The collection features 15 movies from the Master of Suspense, 10 episodes from Alfred Hitchcock Presents and three episodes from The Alfred Hitchcock Hour. Also included is a 58 page booklet which features interesting facts from the movies as well as 15 hours worth of special features.

During the holiday season I’ll be taking deeper dives into the collection’s special features, which includes commentary from director William Friedkin (The French Connection) on Vertigo and “Topaz: An Appreciation by Film Historian and Critic Leonard Maltin.” Alfred Hitchcock and Francois Truffaut interview excerpts are also interwoven throughout the collection.

Click on the media bar below to hear director Kent Jones (Hitchcock/Truffaut) cite his favorite Alfred Hitchcock movie:

What are your favorite Hitchcock movies? Or are you a bigger fan of his anthology series? Feel free to comment below!!
