Currently starring in Abduction, Weaver starred last year in the comedy You Again (with Kristen Bell) and will be featured later this year in the police drama Rampart.

“I’m developing a couple of things which are challenging lead roles for myself, and I have to keep going on those.  But I love the variety of what I get asked to do,” says Weaver, who also starred this year in the alien comedy Paul and Cedar Rapids.  “A lot of these young directors have grown up watching Aliens and Ghostbusters and they ask me to be in their movies and I get to do all kinds of insane things.  So I’m happy.  Very happy.”

Abduction, headlined by Taylor Lautner, is now playing nationwide.

MATTHEW BRODERICK FAILED THE ‘MANE’ ATTRACTION IN DISNEY’S ‘THE LION KING’

broderick-simbaCurrently No. 1 at the box office, Disney’s THE LION KING is enjoying fresh success after being spruced up and converted to digital 3D. One of the studio’s most popular and financially successful titles, the film features the voice talents of MATTHEW BRODERICK, JONATHAN TAYLOR THOMAS, JEREMY IRONS, JAMES EARL JONES, NATHAN LANE and ERNIE SABELLA. Flush with tunes by ELTON JOHN and TIM RICE, the movie went on to be adapted for the Broadway stage, where it won several Tony Awards.
Since the release of THE LION KING, MATTHEW BRODERICK has gone on to musical comedy stardom in HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, THE PRODUCERS and THE MUSIC MAN (including a Tony win for his musical talents in HOW TO SUCCEED…). So, it should come as no surprise that, during our interview with him for the original 1994 release of the film, he was disappointed when asked if it was his singing voice we were hearing in the movie. TAYLOR LAUTNER ENJOYS HIS SOCIAL LIFE DESPITE ATTENTION FROM FANS

18

Before 2008, Taylor Lautner was virtually an unknown actor. That all changed when the first Twilight film was released. Since then, Lautner has gained one of the most loyal fan followings. While he embraces his fans, it has made it harder on him to be able to go out in public and have a good time.  But that hasn’t stopped Lautner, who still can go out and do some of the things he use to do, it’s all about choosing the right places. ALFRED MOLINA DISCUSSES DEMISE OF ‘LAW & ORDER: LA’

alfredmolina2

Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2, Law & Order: LA) stars in Abduction as an FBI agent hot on the trail of teenager (Taylor Lautner) whose life is in danger.

The 58-year-old, who played Satipo in Raiders of the Lost Ark, loves working with younger actors.   “When you work with a new generation of actors, it’s invigorating,” says Molina.  “And it kind of reminds you why you wanted to become an actor in the first place.  So working with Taylor’s generation – they’re energy is exactly the sort of energy I had when I was at that age.  And it’s kind of good for you, I think.”

One of last season’s disappointments was the cancellation of Law & Order: LA, and Hollywood Outbreak asked Mr. Molina about his thoughts on the show’s demise:

TAYLOR LAUTNER LIVING THE DREAM WITH ‘ABDUCTION’

taylorpic2

Taylor Lautner breaks out of the Twilight universe and is the lead in the thriller Abduction, where he plays a teen who finds himself on the run from the FBI and an assortment of bad guys.  Directed by John Singleton, Abduction will test whether or not Lautner can carry his own film.

“I love the (Twilight) franchise, I love that character,” says Lautner.  “But as an actor I want to go off and do different things.  I want to be able to play my own role.  And (Abduction) was that for me.”
