Killing Gunther With Arnold Schwarzenegger Hits Blu-Ray In December


Killing Gunther, a docu-comedy starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and directed by Saturday Night Live’s Taran Killam, hits Blu-ray, DVD and Digital December 26 via Lionsgate.

The story, which is penned by and co-stars Killam, centers on a hit man (Schwarzenegger) who seeks revenge on a group of assassins who are attempting to kill him to enhance their career. Killam plays Blake, the ringleader of the group who has a personal stake in the mission since his ex-girlfriend (Cobie Smulders) had a fling with Gunther after they split up. Bobby Moynihan and Aaron Yoo co-starin the flick.

Special features on both the Blu-ray and DVD include deleted scenes and a blooper reel.

OK, nobody loves a sight gag more than I do and I’m not so old that I can’t appreciate the occassional ‘gross-out’ joke but when a really drunk chick attempts to retieve a pack of gum from a filthy public rest room toilet that hasn’t been flushed in ages my gag reflex doesn’t have anything to do with jokes.

And, there’s my big problem with the otherwise completely loveable NICK & NORAH’S INFINITE PLAYLIST. This adorable teen comedy is so right on the mark in trying to create a kind of JOHN HUGHES comedy for the current generation that I’m not sure director PETER SOLLETT’s  puke and shit jokes quite fit in to the film.

That said, newcomer ARI GRAYNOR is amazing in her ability to work through the *ahem* crap they give her and deserves credit for a job well done. We spoke with her and co-star AARON YOO  recently and they talked about co-starring with, well…..a toilet and the test audience response:
