In the Lifetime biopic, COCO CHANEL, veteran actress SHIRLEY MacLAINE plays the famous French designer in her advanced years and looks for all the world born to the role.
And, even though MacLAINE looks perfectly at home in the designer costumes, she tells us that, for the most part, CHANEL’S designs don’t suit her at all.
Listen in below (and don’t forget that COCO CHANEL premiers tomorrow night (9/13) on Lifetime):
When it comes to off-beat comedies JOEL and ETHAN COEN spell quirky with a capitol Q. From RAISING ARIZONA to O’ BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU (and everything in between) THE COEN BROTHERS somehow infuse their comedies with a vibe unlike any other.
Their latest effort, BURN AFTER READING, stars GEORGE CLOONEY, BRAD PITT, TILDA SWINTON, JOHN MALKOVICH. Set in Washington DC, it revolves around the current climate of governmental paranoia and, while wildly funny, THE COENS tell us that they originally set out to something else entirely. Listen in to the clip below:
Even though he and ANGELINA JOLIE are besieged by paparazzi on a daily basis, BRAD PITT claims he does not want to alter his life
dramatically just because of all the attention he receives.
Check out this clip (and remember that you can see BRAD PITT in BURN AFTER READING opening nationally tomorrow):
ROBERT DeNIRO and AL PACINO are together again (and hopefully it will be more satisfactory than their last teaming in HEAT) for the cop thriller RIGHTEOUS KILL.
No one is doing much press on this one (never a good sign) but you can listen in below as DeNIRO talks about getting his pal PACINO involved (and don’t forget that RIGHTEOUS KILL opens tomorrow):
This week-end sees the release of TYLER PERRY’S sixth feature film and it promises to to be a box office biggie.
THE FAMILY THAT PREYS is an ‘upstairs-downstairs’ tale of two families tied together by scandal.
We spoke with PERRY recently and he told us that the inclusion of two military vets in the story was done for a reason…a big reason. Listen in below:
In COCO CHANEL, the Lifetime Channel biopic premiering this week-end, the legendary SHIRLEY MacLAINE plays the designing diva in her *ahem* later years.
We were amused when MacLAINE, at the recent TCA press tour, revealed that she doesn’t remember meeting CHANEL even though there were pics to prove it.
This from a woman who has made a living writing about past lives going back hundreds of years! Selective memory, indeed. Listen in Below:
In the past, GORDON RAMSAY has been more bark than bite but now that he’s gotten more fit and firm the Fox reality star is even more intimidating.
HOLLYWOOD OUTBREAK talked with CHEF RAMSAY about his new fitness regimen, soccer and kickboxing. Listen in below (and don’t forget KITCHEN NIGHTMARES tonight on Fox):
HOUNDDOG, director DEBORAH KEMPMEIER’S southern coming-of-age story starring DAKOTA FANNING, ROBIN WRIGHT PENN and DAVID MORSE is set to open tomorrow and the jury is still out as to how people will react to what the press has taken to calling ‘the DAKOTA FANNING rape movie’.
When word got out that the film included a scene in which FANNING was raped, the entertainment press went wild with outrage. The funny thing is that: (a) the scene is brief and discreet and (b) MS. FANNING is a professional actress not fazed at all by what happen on screen.
We spoke with DAKOTA in Toronto over the week-end and she assures that what happens on set stays on set and she doesn’t carry her roles away with her. Listen in below:
The new COHN BROTHERS comedy BURN AFTER READING opens nationally tomorrow and stars GEORGE CLOONEY, BRAD PITT and TILDA SWINTON.
Set in Washington, DC the film is part spy story and all whacky comedy. The stars were in Toronto over the week-end and during a press conference for the film SWINTON revealed that for their characters it was all about the hair styles (and even gave a little nod to a character from the COHEN’S last film).
Listen in below:
The first rumors had it as NICHOLAS CAGE. Then came word that it would be STEVE CARRELL. Now, VARIETY reports that it will be MICHAEL DOUGLAS.
Frankly, we can’t wait. Hit the link for a fun read:
