We just can’t think of a better way to “ring out the old and ring in the new” than the classic FRANK LOESSER tune performed by ZOOEY DESCHANEL and JOSEPH GORDON LEVITT. Happy New Year!!!
Although we probably know more than we ever thought we would about the royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton, Dateline is presenting an even more detailed report on the bride-to-be tonight (7:00 p.m. ET/PT, NBC).
Dateline correspondent, Dennis Murphy tells HollywoodOutbreak.com that the news magazine will cover everything – from her humble beginnings to the present. And if you think she’ll be living a life of privilege…well…of course she will…but not without a big price tag.
“She understands what’s coming, but wait until she gets inside the bubble itself,” Murphy begins. “The royal commentators say she will not be able to dash off to the Caribbean to get some sun. She can’t go with her friends to Austria to go skiing. She won’t be able to leave the country without the permission of the royal family, the prime minister; she’s going to be followed by plain coat guys with guns in the Land Rover behind her. If she is bored stiff watching the 15th child dance troop she cannot yawn because the cameras will take an embarrassing picture of her. She is going to be exposed to more scrutiny than she has ever imagined before and she’s gotten her share of it.”
In fact, Murphy says, the prince has deliberately immersed her into the life of the royals to see if she could handle the demands.
“People that know them say that a lot of this courtship was him exposing her to the life…his life inside the bubble,” Murphy explains. “The shooting weekends up in Scotland with the family. The placing of the wreath, the dedication of this building or that. ‘Are you ready to do this?’ was a lot of the conversation.”
Luckily for Middleton, Queen Elizabeth actually likes her, Murphy says with conviction.
And this wedding is a huge deal in the U.K. Though many Brits pooh-pooh the upcoming nuptials, Murphy says secretly most everyone is thrilled at what this wedding means to the country.
“Just on the level of the Piccadilly souvenirs, the tea towels and the coffee mugs, they’ve sort of already absorbed all of this, “ Murphy acknowledges. “I don’t know if they’re a little bit jaundiced because they’ve had so much royals, so much of a train wreck story from Buckingham Palace over the last two decades with Queen Elizabeth’s children. There may be a little eye rolling. Having said that, they’re going to have the day off. Friday is a holiday and Monday is going to be a holiday, too. So, there is an incentive for a good time was had by all.”

Country Music sensation Blake Shelton is lending his expertise to the upcoming reality show The Voice right smack dab in the middle of planning his wedding to this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards winner, Miranda Lambert.
But to hear Shelton tell it in the video below, he’s been finding all kinds of creative ways to avoid helping with the nuptials – and making Lambert appreciate his lack of attention in the process.
The Voice debuts Tuesday, April 26th, 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, then moves to its regular timeslot on Tuesdays, May 10th, 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
She’s already been married twice, but is Britney Spears ready to become a bride once more for love Jason Trawick?
As she enjoys blockbuster sales and the strongest reviews of her career for seventh studio album Femme Fatale, Spears, 29, tells all in the new Us Weekly (out today) about finding Mr. Right in agent Trawick, 39, her boyfriend of over two years.
“We have such a great time together!” Spears tells Us exclusively. “He makes me laugh, and we are so comfortable being ourselves.”
Marriage plans? “Maybe,” she teases. “Never say never!”
Indeed, a family source tells Us that the blissful pair will likely wed.
Trawick, after all, the source says, “was one of the only people who stuck by her through everything,” including Spears‘ dark 2007 and early 2008 — when she lost custody of her sons Sean, 5, and Jayden, 4, to ex Kevin Federline, and was briefly admitted to a psychiatric hospital.
“[Jason] was someone she felt she could be her true self with. [Marriage] is what they talk about and the direction they’re going in,” the insider says.
Whatever and whenever their nuptial plans, one thing is certain, Spears tells Us: “I’ve never been happier!”

For those not familiar with MTV‘s reality show hit, Jersey Shore (including myself) there are two characters who have a”tumultuous and passionate” relationship named Sammi Giancola (female) and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro (male).
Well, poor Giancola (pushing the hell out of 22) was left “crying and humiliated” from a first-time-since-the-last-time argument with Ortiz-Magro.
Things get murkier from here since all’s forgiven now and Giancola is taking her raging gentlemanfriend back, warts and all.
Maybe all’s not forgiven as Giancola tells Us Weekly why she decided to jump back into the inferno.
“He’s a good person,” Giancola tells Us of Ortiz-Magro, 25 (going on 3?), who stomped on her glasses and called her a “spoiled bitch” during the mix-up. “Nobody’s perfect. I get out of hand, he gets out of hand.”
Is this what the Feminist revolution has come to? Isn’t there anyone down the block she could find who wouldn’t treat her like a trash-belly trollop?
Giancola‘s exclusive interview is in Us Weekly at newsstands.
