Chris Pratt: New ‘Jurassic’ Movie Worlds Apart From Previous Sequels

Jurassic WorldJurassic World, the fourth installment on the blockbuster Jurassic Park franchise, opens Friday. Back in 1993, Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg directed the first film, which took the world by storm and the critics raved. While the next two films were box-office hits, they failed to reach the creative heights of the original.

Things may change, however, with the anticipated release of Jurassic World. Lead actor Chris Pratt says the film honors the 1993 classic Spielberg film and adds that Jurassic World adds a new flavor that audiences will like.

For Chris Pratt Movies Are Nice But TV Is Always An Option

fox-flash-logged-inArriving in theaters 6/12, JURASSIC WORLD is the fourth installment in the popular franchise originated over twenty years ago. Conceived by the late MICHAEL CRICHTON , the story of a theme park gone horribly wrong has managed to capture the imagination of millions of movie-goers despite (or, maybe, because of) its ongoing feeling of ‘been there, done that’.

Heading the cast this time around, CHRIS PRATT admirably lives up to the title ‘leading man’ and demonstrates why he’s at the top of everybody’s casting list. Probably best known for his role as the lovable doofus, Andy Dwyer, on TV’s popular PARKS AND RECREATION, PRATT took the box-office by storm in last summer’s blockbuster franchise GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and is rumored to be taking over the upcoming INDIANA JONES reboot.

One would think that being at the helm of three of the most popular franchises in movie history would have PRATT leaving TV in the dust but, at the recent JURASSIC WORLD press conference, the actor said that couldn’t be further from the truth. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)

Jennifer Lopez Ready for “Sparkly” & “Fresh” American Idol Season

American Idol (CR: Mattias Vriens-McGrath/FOX)

Jennifer Lopez was initially set to judge just a year of American Idol, but her first stint on the show lasted two seasons. After her hiatus from last season, the show underwent its share of turmoil, mainly due to the friction between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.

With Harry Connick Jr. and returnee Keith Urban rounding out the judges, American Idol’s chemistry should be an entirely different animal – and for all intents and purposes, that’s a good thing.”

“I sit between two people who I respect and have a good time with,” said Lopez at Monday’s FOX’s Television Critics Association day. “We all love music. That’s what is going to make it sparkly and fresh and new again.”

Chris Evans: How Captain America Added to His Arsenal

116Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be the third chapter in Marvel Studios’ cinematic universe Phase 2. After having the stage set by last May’s Iron Man 3 and this November’s Thor: The Dark World (and with a handy assist from Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD on ABC), Winter Soldier finds the stalwart Captain Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) now fully initiated as a SHIELD operative and facing down a menace from his past which threatens the fate of the country; maybe even the world. (because, let’s be honest — it always threatens the world)

Along with some new threads, new allies like the Falcon (played by Runner Runner’s Anthony Mackie), and a new Washington, DC address, it appears Cap will also get some new moves. At a red carpet event for his new film, Evans spoke about the training Cap’s received since helping fight off an alien invasion in Marvel’s The Avengers. Captain America: The Winter Soldier also stars Scarlett Johansson, Robert Redford, and Samuel L. Jackson, and is scheduled to hit theaters April 4, 2014.
