Survivor 51 week 2 wasted very little time bringing the chaos. Between a frightening machete accident, another injury, a hidden immunity idol and a Tribal Council plan that went completely off the rails, the players had plenty to deal with before the second person left the game.
After Aaliyah Puglia became the first castaway voted out, Lewis Kelly finally entered the regular game following his time on Exile Island. But joining an established tribe was only the beginning of what Survivor 51 week 2 had waiting for the castaways.
Survivor 51 week 2 sends Lewis Kelly to Toka
The episode picked up with Lewis Kelly arriving at Toka following the first Tribal Council. Lewis Kelly knew he was stepping into a tribe that had already spent several days forming relationships without him. He explained what happened during his time on Exile Island, but Danny Kilby wasn’t completely convinced that Lewis Kelly had returned empty-handed and wondered whether he might have picked up an advantage.
Meanwhile, Devin Way and Brady Booker moved forward despite voting differently at the previous Tribal Council. The two reaffirmed their relationship and continued working together.
Brady Booker suffers a frightening Survivor 51 week 2 injury
Things quickly became much more serious for Brady Booker. While helping around camp, Brady Booker accidentally cut off part of his thumb with a machete. Production and the medical team immediately became involved, but Brady Booker remained remarkably calm as everyone assessed the injury.
The biggest question was whether the accident would force him out of the game. It didn’t. After receiving treatment, medication and bandaging, Brady Booker was allowed to continue playing and remained with Toka.
Jelly Loblack finds a Hidden Immunity Idol
Toka soon had another major development when Jelly Loblack went searching for a Hidden Immunity Idol. She found one.
Jelly Loblack was already close with Devin Way, but she decided not to tell him about the idol. Instead, she shared the secret with Patt Cannaday, strengthening the trust between the two of them. Jelly Loblack and Patt Cannaday also found themselves working inside a five-person group that included Devin Way, Brady Booker and Mike Pinsky.
The discovery added another layer to Survivor 51 week 2, especially with Jelly Loblack choosing to keep such an important piece of information away from one of her closest allies.
Ana Sani creates uncertainty at Savu
Things were becoming much less settled over at Savu. Ana Sani began casually throwing out the names of Sharonda Cox and Linnea Capobianco while talking with Alexis Levine.
That quickly became a problem. Alexis Levine later walked into a conversation where Ana Sani was talking about her with Carter Krull. She responded by going to Sharonda Cox and Linnea Capobianco and telling them what Ana Sani had been saying.
Even though Eric Macksoud remained an early target for several players, Ana Sani was now firmly on the tribe’s radar.
Kristin Flickinger gets hurt during the Reward Challenge
Savu’s difficult day continued during the Reward Challenge. The players competed in pairs through an obstacle course with one member blindfolded. Savu lost the challenge, and the frustration afterward created more tension around camp.
Rob Antonson questioned Linnea Capobianco about decisions he believed contributed to their loss. Instead of putting all of the attention on Linnea Capobianco, however, Rob Antonson’s behavior also raised concerns among his tribemates.
The challenge brought an even bigger scare for Kristin Flickinger, who fell from a cargo net and injured her foot. Kristin Flickinger worried that the injury could threaten her game but continued playing. She treated the injury with a medicinal herb she had researched before coming onto Survivor and remained determined to stay.
Toka dominates the Survivor 51 immunity challenge
The tribes faced brutal weather when it came time for immunity. During a challenge played in heavy rain, they had to transport a massive 500-pound whale through a water obstacle before completing the final portion on land.
Toka built a large lead in the water and never gave it back. Strong performances from Devin Way, Mike Pinsky and Maggie Chmielewski helped Toka secure immunity and avoid a second consecutive Tribal Council.
That left Savu facing its first vote and moved Survivor 51 week 2 into an increasingly complicated scramble.
The Survivor 51 vote begins moving away from Eric Macksoud
After the loss, Rob Antonson surprised his tribemates by admitting that he had struggled during the challenge and had nearly wanted to quit. He later explained that he was missing his family and life back home and even considered sacrificing his own place in the game.
At the same time, Savu’s vote was becoming increasingly complicated. Ana Sani believed Eric Macksoud remained the obvious target and suggested that the group could even tell Eric Macksoud they were voting for her. That idea helped create even more suspicion around Ana Sani.
Alexis Levine also overheard Ori Jean-Charles and Carter Krull talking about crabs but mistakenly believed they might be discussing a blindside. With concerns forming around a potential group involving Ori Jean-Charles, Carter Krull, Ana Sani and Rob Antonson, several of the women began working to move the vote from Eric Macksoud to Ana Sani.
Rob Antonson tries to save Eric Macksoud at Tribal Council
Before Tribal Council, Rob Antonson pulled Eric Macksoud aside with an unusual proposal. Rob Antonson asked Eric Macksoud for his Shot in the Dark and told him to follow his instructions once they reached Tribal Council, without explaining his entire plan.
Once the tribe sat down with Jeff Probst, the plan finally started becoming clearer. Rob Antonson privately warned Eric Macksoud that Ana Sani was only a fake target and told him that the tribe was actually coming for him. Eric Macksoud would play his Shot in the Dark, and if it failed, Rob Antonson planned to use his immunity idol to protect him.
Then Rob Antonson attempted another move. When he entered the voting booth, he tried to write down his own name. Production informed him that players cannot vote for themselves, forcing him to choose somebody else.
Rob Antonson ultimately voted for Eric Macksoud and did not play his idol for him.
Survivor 51 week 2 Tribal Council ends in a blindside
In the end, Eric Macksoud didn’t need Rob Antonson’s idol. Rob Antonson, Ori Jean-Charles, Ana Sani and Carter Krull voted for Eric Macksoud, but the rest of Savu had already shifted the plan.
By a 6-4 vote, Ana Sani was blindsided and became the second castaway eliminated from Survivor Season 51. What began as a seemingly simple vote against Eric Macksoud turned into a scramble involving a Shot in the Dark, an unused idol, an attempted self-vote and a last-minute change of target.
That chaotic Tribal Council brought Survivor 51 week 2 to a close, leaving Savu with plenty to sort out when the tribe returned to camp.
Survivor airs Wednesday nights at 8/7c on CBS and streams the next day on Paramount+.
