Sonic the Hedgehog 2 isn’t the first animated film Idris Elba has worked on — he’s previously contributed his voice talents to Finding Dory and Zootopia — so he’s had a good amount of experience alone in the recording studio. At this point, he’s got the procedure down to a science, but he told us he’s hoping to someday make an animated film that is voiced more like a stage performance.
