The Eurovision Song Contest has been around since 1956, and its list of winners has included future superstars like ABBA and Celine Dion. The idea of bringing together all of Europe’s countries for a celebration of music has been an appealing one, and it’s something the producers of American Song Contest are hoping to duplicate in America. It will bring together contestants from all 50 states, and co-host Kelly Clarkson thinks that Eurovision unity vibe is exactly what the country needs these days.
