Back As The Bat, Michael Keaton Reflects On Batman’s Endurance

Michael Keaton played Bruce Wayne and Batman when the venerable DC comic character was adapted to the big screen in 1989, and he played the character again in the 1992 sequel, Batman Returns. But then, he relinquished the cape to a series of other actors in subsequent films, including George Clooney, Val Kilmer, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck. But Keaton is back in the Bat-business, returning to play the character on the big screen once again in The Flash and Batgirl. When he first got the role, Keaton talked about the reasons that drew him to the character in the first place, reasons that included one key element Keaton says has helped Batman relate to audiences across the decades. The Flash is expected to be released in theaters on November 4, 2022, and Batgirl is expect to premiere on HBO Max sometime next
