Adele Wants To Be Timeless, Not Trendy

Having already sold more than 120 copies of her four studio albums, Adele isn’t even close to being finished. While her new album, 30, is topping the current album charts, her previous two efforts, 25 and 21, are also in that chart’s top 40 this week. (Even her debut effort, 19, which spawned no hit singles in America, is still on the chart.) Why is it that Adele’s work keeps selling? She told us she thinks it’s because she doesn’t fall into the trap of trying to be too trendy; instead, she writes and sings songs about real emotions that don’t have to rely on gimmicks to succeed. Because of that, she believes her music — like the new single Easy on Me — is timeless. (Click on the media bar below to hear Adele)
