M. Night Shyamalan’s Movies Live For Death (And Vice Versa)

M. Night Shyamalan on the set of Old.

M. Night Shyamalan sees dead people. He sees a lot of dead people. More accurately, he sees a lot of dead characters in the movies he makes. While his body count may not quite match Quentin Tarantino’s, it’s no secret that Shyamalan’s movies tend to have a certain fascination with death. And that’s OK, he says, because while people may die in his movies, the audience understands that it’s happening in a way that is somehow life-affirming. (Click on the media bar below to hear M.
