Though he died a little more than 15 years ago, playwright August Wilson’s work continues to resonate. A filmed version of his 1984 play, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, has been earning rave reviews and plenty of buzz on the awards circuit. Viola Davis, who stars in the film with the late Chadwick Boseman, has been a big fan of Wilson’s work, and she told us she particularly admired his ability to convincingly write for characters of all ages.
