Laverne Cox: Without #MeToo, There’d Be No ‘Promising Young Woman’

There’s been a huge buzz behind the film Promising Young Woman, from first-tine writer/director Emerald Fennell. Carey Mulligan has drawn raves in the film’s starring role, playing a woman who acts out revenge fantasies after a friend is raped. Laverne Cox, who has a co-starring role in the film, told us it’s a movie that is definitely of its time, because she doesn’t think it could have been made in the days before the #MeToo movement.(Click on the media bar below to hear Laverne Cox)
