Mark Ruffalo, last seen in Avengers: Endgame, stars as Cincinnati attorney Robert Bilott in Dark Waters. The feature centers on Bilott’s legal battle against DuPont. Along with consulting with Ruffalo and director Todd Haynes (Far From Heaven) on Dark Waters, Bilott also penned the new book Exposure: Poisoned Water, Corporate Greed, and One Lawyer’s 20-Year Battle Against Dupont.

Ruffalo has nothing but admiration for Bilott, who put his career, health, and friendships on the line throughout the process. “He gave everything,” said Ruffalo. “It’s just a rare journey to take today. He’s the most modest, beautiful soft spoken, lovely guy. He’s a hero. I play heroes – he is a hero.”
