Jojo Rabbit is definitely not your average movie. For example, it dares to look at World War II through a unique, comedic lens, thanks to screenwriter/director Taika Waititi. And it is a daring gambit, but one he felt he could get away with because he wrote the story from the perspective of its main character, a 10-year-old child. As Waititi told us, if you can look at an issue in a childlike way, you can get away with things that would never work when seen through an adult’s eyes.
