In August 1997, there were flip phones, not smart phones. The newest computers were running on Pentium II chips, and tech heads were upgrading their internet connections to the latest technology: 56Kbps dial-up modems. There was no Google yet. DVDs had just hit the market. South Park also premiered in August 1997, and while it seems like everything else in the world has changed drastically, Trey Parker and Matt Stone say the way they produce their animated comedy has stayed the same.
