It’s a testament to his growth as an actor that he’s able to submerge himself so deeply in a role, losing all sense of vanity along the way. And it’s a sign that he’s come a long way from his early days in Hollywood, where he had developed a reputation for being a bit on the wild side. It seemed like things started to turn around for him after he won the Academy Award for his work in Gladiator, and we asked him if that Oscar win had a big impact on his life and behavior.
