The new version of One Day at a Time drew plenty of critical raves and a passionate fan base — one that was heartbroken and angry when Netflix announced its cancellation. Those people are much happier now that Pop TV has announced it will produce a new season of the show. For those who haven’t watched, the premise is virtually the same as the original ’70s hit comedy, except the family in the remake is Latino. Norman Lear, who produced both versions of the show, told us he had absolutely no reservations about changing the nationality of the show’s core characters. The first three seasons of One Day at a Time are still streaming on Netflix; new episodes will begin airing on Pop TV later this year.
