It’s no exaggeration to say The Karate Kid has become legendary over the past 35 years. After spawning two sequels, two reboots, and now a TV series that rejoins the original characters three decades later, there’s even more love for the original film than there was when it was released. William Zabka, who co-starred as Johnny Lawrence in the movie and now stars in the Cobra Kai series, has great memories of making the film. When we spoke to him, he told us they literally spent months training for the climactic final fight, only to have it end in minutes because — believe it or not — it was shot in real time.
