Greg Kinnear makes his feature directing debut in Phil, the story of a depressed dentist (Kinnear) who is surprised when one of his patients (Bradley Whitford) commits suicide.

In an attempt to figure out the motivations behind his patient’s decision, Phil pretends to be a Greek handyman and eventually befriends the late man’s wife (Emily Mortimer) and daughter. The picture is penned by Stephen Mazur, the screenwriter behind the first rate comedies Liar Liar and Heartbreakers. Taylor Schilling, Jay Duplass and Luke Wilson round out the cast.
