Mindy Kaling’s film and television career has been a highly successful one. On the cinema side she has worked on A Wrinkle In Time, Ocean’s Eight and The Night Before. Her writing and producing skills have also took flight, on the television end, with The Office, Champions, and The Mindy Project.
With the new film Late Night, Kaling headlines the project (which she also penned) with Emma Thompson. The narrative centers on Molly (Kaling) a chemical plant efficiency expert who is hired to be part of a late night show writing staff. Katherine Newberry (Thompson), the host of the program, is in need of a personality makeover and the program is in a bit of a creative rut, so Molly is hired to inject a little bit of energy and insight into the environment.
