Last year’s Suspira remake was more of a reimagining of the story than a homage to filmmaker Dario Argento. In Fabric, helmed by The Duke of Burgundy director Peter Strickland, definitely feels like an Argento homage that ventures off into new horizons.

The narrative centers on a woman (Blindspot vet Marianne Jean-Baptiste) who purchases a red dress to make an impression on a date. She assumedly regrets that decision after the dress seems to have a mind of its own, and even after being ripped to seeming shreds it actually restores itself back to one piece!

The plotline feels like something one would see on The Twilight Zone, and with Strickland’s vision and Jean-Baptiste’s acting (one of her best performances is the 1996 feature Secrets & Lies), In Fabric should be a memorable film.

There is no firm release date for In Fabric (A24 just state that it was “coming soon”), but check out the trailer and tell us what you think!
