Tom Cruise’s mission isn’t over yet – not by a long shot. Plans have been set in motion for not just one, but two more Mission: Impossible sequels, which will shoot back-to-back and give us new films in the summers of 2021 and 2022. That means the M: I movies will have spanned four different decades! What makes that even more impressive is that the original show, which aired in the 1960s, took place during a very specific political environment. When we talked to Cruise, he was incredibly proud that he and his cohorts have been able to update the movies into a series that not only remains relevant, but also remains enormously entertaining. M: I 7 is due for release on July 23, 2021, with M: I 8 set to follow on August 5, 2022.
