Sixteen-year-old actress Raffey Cassidy (The Killing of a Sacred Deer) has dual roles in Vox Lux, making it possibly the most challenging role she’s had to tackle thus far. In the film she plays the younger version of pop star Celeste (Natalie Portman) as well as Celeste’s daughter Albertine. The feature was nominated for the Gold Lion for Best Picture at the Venice Film Festival.

“I guess it’s trying not to make it gimmicky or being the same person,” said Cassidy in discussing playing two roles in Vox Lux. “It was also fun to do, (but it’s) kind of challenging at the same time. It was shot sequentially so we did young Celeste then I’d move on to Albertine so I’d completely forget the Celeste character and focus on Albertine.” Click on the media bar to hear Cassidy talk about learning from Vox Lux co-stars Natalie Portman and Jude Law:
