Shooting an indie Western should be a tricky thing, and writer/director Scott Martin ups the ante by also starring in his film Big Kill. The project centers on an accountant named Jim (Last Man Standing’s Christoph Sanders) who heads West after his wife’s death to go into business with his brother. Along with the help of rogues Jake (Martin) and Travis (Clint Hummel), Jim tries to find his footing in a new town, but unfortunately gunfire and bad folks have a way of ruining your day.
One huge draw for watching Big Kill is the supporting players hired for his movie. Jason Patric, excellent in the underrated, Walter Hill directed Western Geronimo, and Young Guns member Lou Diamond Phillips are on board along with Danny Trejo (Machete) and Michael Paré (Streets of Fire, another Hill film) are also on board. As a fan of the genre, I’ll watch most Westerns that come my way, and Big Kill definitely is on the list. Check out the trailer and tell us what you think!
Big Kill hits theaters October 19.
