Melissa McCarthy’s new movie is a departure from the broad, raunchy comedies she’s become known for. Can You Ever Forgive Me? is based on the memoirs of disgraced author Lee Israel, and it’s already generating buzz about a possible Oscar nomination for McCarthy. At a press event, she revealed that she had no idea who Israel was when she got the script, but once she got to know her story, she was grateful to have gotten the role.
