The first season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel was an unqualified success, with the show earning six Primetime Emmy Awards nominations for its freshman effort after winning two Golden Globes earlier in the year. One of those Golden Globes belongs to Rachel Brosnahan, who has drawn raves for her performance as the show’s title character, a 1950s-era housewife who starts a career in stand-up comedy. Brosnahan told us that, while she was figuring out how to play the character, she went to comedy clubs and watched several unknown female comics hone their craft. Season 2 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will start streaming on Amazon Prime later this year, and the show has already been greenlit for a third season.
