With Jane the Virgin coming to an end this season, producer Jennie Snyder Urman has turned her attention to a reboot of the ’90s supernatural series Charmed. The new series features a new set of sisters and a much more racially diverse cast than the first, and some — including Holly Marie Combs, who starred in the original — have criticized the very idea of a new Charmed. Urman told us she’s definitely aware of the backlash, but she doesn’t think it’s racially motivated. (Click on the media bar below to hear Jennie Snyder Urman)
Charmed will premiere Thursday, October 18 on The CW.
